12/15 This Christmas gift stands as an homage to this remarkable couple (Helmut Kritzinger & Erika Lechthaler)—a century of love, now reunited as they departed within a month of each other.
In the serene embrace of South Tyrol’s valleys, Helmut Kritzinger, the esteemed former Federal Council President of the Republic of Austria (August 15, 1928 – October 28, 2023), and Erika Lechthaler (August 28, 1937 – December 2, 2023) sought solace in each other’s presence. Helmut’s life resonated with resilience, shaped by the unyielding spirit rooted in Sarnthein’s soil. Erika, an effervescent soul from Vezzan, carried the symphonies of classical music within her heart. Destiny, akin to an artist wielding an enchanted brush, intricately intertwined their fates amidst Sarnthein’s enchanting streets, scripting an eternal love tale. Erika, molded by turbulent times, held within her the wisdom of gratitude and contentment. Even amidst life’s darkest hours, her unwavering strength lit the path for her family. Her profound love for her origins and treasured family values eclipsed every fear.
Their union transcended mere vows; it was a tapestry woven with threads of love, family, and an enduring promise that weathered life’s storms. Helmut’s political odyssey marked pivotal milestones, notably his tenure as a federal councilor in Vienna. His dignified state visit to Rome as the Federal Council chairman, meeting President Napolitano, stood as a pinnacle moment. In their conversation, their shared history unfolded, emphasizing the imperative of championing justice.
Their narrative reverberates with the power of unity—an ode to the remarkable partnership where, behind an extraordinary man, stood an equally remarkable woman. Erika became Helmut’s unwavering support, a beacon of strength through their most challenging moments. Her gentle demeanor, kindness, and steadfast support inspired all who encountered her.
Their legacy narrates an enduring tale of love and unwavering dedication. Helmut and Erika’s bond embodied resilience, love, and an unwavering commitment to family and homeland. Their lives epitomized the enduring strength of love, resilience, and timeless values that transcend generations.
This concise story pays homage to their extraordinary journey, celebrating their love, fortitude, and the profound influence they had on those around them.

10/6 Empowering Dreams: A Journey of Hope and Education in Nepal
Nepal, a nation plagued by poverty, rugged terrain, and stark social disparities, continues to struggle for education. Despite the relentless efforts of the government, the recent 2023 survey paints a disheartening picture: the national literacy rate stands at 75% for men and a mere 57% for women. However, these figures only represent averages. For the marginalized ‘untouchables’ and those residing in the remote mountainous regions, the dream of education remains a distant reality. In the inaugural phase of our educational initiative, we have embarked on a mission that transcends mere impact; we aspire to make a profound difference. Our goal is to support two small-scale projects, assisting two ‘untouchable’ classes already benefiting from free education assistance, and aiding two elementary schools nestled in the heart of the mountainous regions. We provide essentials such as shoes, winter clothing, and stationery, ensuring these children travel to and from school safely, shielded from the harsh elements, and enhancing their learning experience. Children embody our future, and their growth can’t wait. With unwavering support, we expand their horizons and transform their lives. AYI CAN HELP, ACLA, and All Arise Shine unite for this noble cause. Just $25 provides a child with shoes, a coat, a backpack, and school supplies, empowering them for a brighter future. Your support, a mere $5 for shoes, $12 for a coat, $5 for a backpack, and $3 for supplies, ensures a child’s daily journey toward knowledge. Every step they take, every lesson learned, is powered by your generosity. Your generous contribution is more than just a donation; it’s a beacon of hope. Your support profoundly impacts these children’s lives, paving the way for a future that is not only brighter but also filled with promise. We invite you to stand with us today, crafting a future characterized by education, empowerment, and limitless possibilities!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the family and friends of the late Dr. Gin-weigh Wu for honoring his memory in such a meaningful way.
Last year, All Arise Shine built classrooms in remote mountains and plains, offering hope to 100 children in each. Despite their simplicity, these classrooms are vital lifelines for kids denied education otherwise.
This year, our project battles financial strains and natural disasters. We urgently need funds to help 200 students survive the winter. Your support can transform their lives. Join us, be a beacon of light, and shape a brighter future for these children.

9/24 Community Unity and Support: Ayi Can Help’s Compassionate Response to Typhoon Haikui
In the wake of the turmoil and destruction caused by Typhoon Haikui in Taiwan, the aftermath was nothing short of heart-wrenching. Countless families found themselves uprooted, their homes reduced to rubble, and their lives thrown into chaos. However, amidst this overwhelming catastrophe, a ray of hope began to shine.
Pastor Zongxian You, a dedicated advocate for underprivileged children in rural villages, had been running an after-school study program aimed at assisting 100 impoverished kids in their educational journey. His goal was to empower these young minds with education, providing them with a pathway out of poverty. Unfortunately, the ferocity of Typhoon Haikui wreaked havoc on everything they had worked for.
In this time of dire need, Ayi Can Help stepped in, launching a fundraising initiative that, combined with the efforts of local volunteers, raised $3,000 USD. These funds were swiftly mobilized to provide much-needed food and relief to the village, rescuing and sustaining the lives of these 100 children and teenagers who had been thrust into the midst of a disaster. This heartwarming tale serves as a testament to the power of community and compassion, even in the face of the most challenging circumstances. Thank you, cheerful giver (喜福姐姐), for your generous contribution of fish fillets, German sausages, and frozen asparagus.
9/11 Our ongoing relief efforts for the MAUI wildfires have been structured as follows:
1) We extended our support to the frontline firefighters and first responders, expressing our heartfelt gratitude for their selfless dedication in protecting the community, even at the cost of their own homes. They stand as valiant guardians.
2) In response to the urgent request from Maui Island’s public schools, we stepped up to offer a helping hand. Our assistance extended to families with infants and those in need of special care, and we were guided by Maui Island’s public schools to provide essential supplies to over 40 needy families. Our contributions included a generous supply of items valued at over $1,000, including 2,000 diapers and baby wipes, 800 bottles of drinking water, baby foods, formula for newborns, bulk shampoo (2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner) for displaced families, underwear, blankets for a well-deserved rest, fans, gym class sneakers, and t-shirts. This comprehensive support aimed to provide immediate relief and comfort to those affected.

6/2Adversity’s Blessings: Bringing Blessings to Those in Need After Rebirth
In the midst of adversity, there is a newfound blessing, as if reborn from the ashes, bringing immense blessings to those who require assistance. When we ourselves face difficulties and challenges, we deeply understand the longing for care and support. In this world, many children suffer from hunger each day, which becomes a barrier to their education and personal growth. However, we believe that within adversity lies opportunity and hope.
Through our sponsorship program for after-school snacks, we aim to change this narrative. These humble snacks serve as a lifeline for these children, providing not only nourishment but also hope and shielding them from the haunting specter of hunger. By nourishing their bodies, we offer them more than mere sustenance; we bestow upon them a taste of blessings, showing them that they are not forgotten and that they deserve a future filled with opportunities.
In a world where hunger hinders education and personal development for countless children, our sponsorship of after-school snacks becomes a catalyst for change. These snacks serve as a lifeline, enabling these children to focus on their studies, excel academically, and break free from the cycle of poverty. Together, let us be the catalysts for change, ensuring that no child goes to bed hungry. Through the simple act of sponsoring after-school snacks, we can provide these underprivileged children with the blessings they deserve and empower them to overcome adversity. Their journey from adversity to blessings begins with our compassion and support.
Ms. Philomena Hsieh, a resident at Little Sisters of the Poor, is an elderly individual facing dementia. With limited family support for the past decade, our dedicated teenage volunteer, Henry Huang, has taken it upon himself to visit Grandma Hsieh regularly. On the occasion of her 90th birthday on May 3rd, Teen Henry Hung went above and beyond by bringing balloons, cake, and ice cream to commemorate this significant milestone and express his profound care and admiration for the elderly to Grandma Hsieh.

We can all do our part in helping those affected by the earthquake. One way to do so is by donating to reputable organizations that are working to provide relief and assistance to those affected. Each time Grandma Wu witnessed these children proudly walking to school, carrying their backpacks, she experienced immense satisfaction and joy. She recognized that her modest contribution could be the pivotal factor in these children’s journey towards success.
